Abstract

I investigate some of the most important theoretical approaches to some of the most important economic factor that shaped the economic transformation in the post-communist states, namely the Foreign Direct Investments (FDI). I investigate how, depending on the theoretical framework we employ, the multiple structural effects FDI had on the economies of the transition economies, as well as other parts of the social and political life can be causally interpreted.
