Utilizarea mijloacelor financiare publice pentru cresterea prezentei femeilor in politica. Cazul Romaniei
Abstract
Affirmative action taken for the enhancement of women?s access to central and local decision making positions constitutes a quick and efficient solution for reducing gender inequalities. The most wide-spread such measure is the gender quotas, adopted either nationally, by law, or in particular cases - such as political parties - by statute. A less-known practice is trough the use of public financing means, more specifically, trough subventions given to political parties (via the national budget or trough other means). In this article I will try to analyze the way in which this second strategy succeeds in stimulating the political parties to promote women in local and parliamentary elections.
